Smoke and Gas Mask

The Xcaper Civilian Smoke and Gas Mask is adapted from the professional mask that more than 80,000 firefighters depend on every day. The mask and the goggle are patented, manufactured and assembled in the USA.  The mask was third party tested by the Navy and recommended for use in shore facilities.

The mask will enable you to breathe in and survive a chemical release, high dust situation or a fire (the most likely toxic gas danger you will ever face) by filtering out the toxic anhydrite gases (cyanide, ammonia, hydrochloric acid, acrolein, tear gas, etc.), thick choking smoke, floating particulate matter, and dioxins that are found in toxic non-agent chemical releases and structural, wild land or chemical fires. Unlike a dry filter mask, the Xcaper removes toxic gases which is critical because, in a fire or chemical release, what you cannot see (the toxic gases) will kill you.

The simple but technologically advanced mask uses the same direct contact, moist filter system as the professional firefighter's mask. Unlike a dry filter, gap filter, N95, hood, or paper filter mask, the Xcaper cannot be defeated by the moisture in a person's exhaled breath. The mask and goggle require no fitting, adjusting, medical clearance or training: just put them on.  The mask weighs only 2.2 ounces, fits easily in a jacket pocket, briefcase or handbag, and goes through building and airport security. The mask has a three year shelf life. We suggest you obtain one kit and one goggle per person and additional masks for the car, nightstand, etc.

For a very low cost a company or organization can make a large investment in staff safety by providing each person a kit and a goggle, and additional masks for the desk drawer, briefcase, etc. A company can also keep masks and goggles in tamper-proof, clear wall-mounted boxes that we can provide for common areas and the conference room.

The goggle will protect your eyes from debris and smoke in a smoke-filled area. Made of Lexan, the same material as professional firefighter goggles, the distortion-free lens permits excellent peripheral vision and it will not fog. You can look straight ahead and still see your feet and Weighs less than an ounce. May seem a bit unsubstantial but a lot of technology went into making it simple, effective and light.
